Easter on Proost

As Holy week begins we wanted to wish all of the Proost family a Happy Easter.  There's been a lot going on with us and so this is by way of letting you in on some of the gems around the site and in the world of Proost.

This week we launch a new movie by Gavin Mart called Trust Amos.  Mixing electronic music with the words of the prophet Amos, this movie shows images from one of the border crossings from Palestine into Israel.  Since 2002 Israel has been building a wall.  Its impacted people's homes, lives, land, jobs and families.  Gavin tells a simple tale and allows the viewer to draw her or his own conclusions.  Powerful and compelling, this movie compliments Gav's Passion Walk which we released last year.

Last week the first Proost on Tour event took place in Oxford.   A small and intimate gathering of friends and Proost first-timers gathered to hear an Open Mic beginning and then sets from Andy Freeman and Tim Watson (below).  It was a big success and we hope to have many more events coming up in the future both in the UK and in North America.  Watch this space.

As Easter approaches there are loads of great resources on Proost which can help you explore the themes of this seminal week.

Crucify This Jesus is a book of poems and liturgies that follows through Easter week literally a day at a time. Ideal for personal reflection, or with a group.

Stations of the Resurrection is an amazing resource from Si Smith based on Jesus' resurrection appearances. It has the illustrations and instructions for setting up an installation experience. Raised in Leeds is the accompanying catalogue with the illustrations and scripture texts.

One of my personal favourite movies on proost is Twelve Stations which is an animated movie of stations of the cross. Calvary, Isaiah 53, Where are you?, Hand tools, the Cross and Spiked Creator are other movies suitable for Good Friday. Agony in the Garden is suitable for Maundy Thursday.

Several of the books have suitable pieces. Here's some suggestions -

And a few tracks on albums -
From everyone here have a very Happy Easter.
